MAC Electric Wonder picks

Hey all,

It’s officially summer! What have you picked from summer makeup launches this year? I decided to go a little neutral this time instead of going for bold and Bright colours, because this year’s MAC Summer Collection really inspired me to be more neutral with my makeup.

The Electric Wonder Collection is big, and it’s expensive. So I decided to get only 2 items that would not exceed my monthly budget (I have Mrs.West Collection coming up too) and here are my two picks:

I went for Desert Lightening eyeshadow palette and The Naturalist Lipstick.

Packaging: Gets an A+ from me. It’s THE most beautiful MAC packaging up to date (yeah, that surpasses the Alluring Aquatic, Fruity Juicy and Snow Ball packaging) because it’s so Instagram-able. Who doesn’t like beautiful rose-y marble mixed with gold accents? The packaging is also plastic, sturdy and has a big mirror inside just like their new Art library palettes.

On the top is the swatch of The Naturalist lipstick. Desert Lightening is a cool toned neutral palette, which reminds me a lot about the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay. The highlights of this palette are So Jaded and Duabandita.

Duabandita is very similar to MAC’s Club eyeshadow, but it’s more of an intense version of Club. It’s a beautiful brown/blue duochrome. To my surprise I found it applies better with a shader brush than fingertip.

While this palette might look boring to many, it’s a dream palette for us neutral-lovers, especially if you love cool tone eyeshadows. Having a neutral undertone, I prefer warm eyeshadows too, but this is a good addition to my eyeshadow collection.

The lipstick is a beautiful warm nude in Lustre finish. It gives a barely there look for me, which I love.

Have you picked anything from Electric Wonder Collection?

Xx
