NARS Orgasm… I think it’s pretty overhyped these days with their newly extended collection to the “Orgasm” family. Last year I tried this infamous “Orgasm” blush (pressed powder) but I could not understand the hype around this product. It didn’t show up on me so I ended up buying the liquid “Orgasm” by NARS.
At first I loved it, but then as time went by, I started realizing that the colour was a bit off on my skin tone. (MAC NC35/37) so I ended up giving it to my friend (she really enjoys it so I’m happy)
I’ve had this NARS limited edition palette for a long time now (read my full review here) which has a similar shade to “Orgasm” call “Deep Throat” that I’d been using on my clients for a while. A few weeks back I started wearing this shade on me and I can safely say I’ve fallen in love with “Deep Throat”- the blush, I mean.
“Deep Throat” is one of their permanent shades fortunately, because I know I will want to repurchase this one. I always pair this with NARS Laguna bronzer (also a permanent shade that was included in “Virtual Domination” palette)
The difference between “Orgasm” and “Deep Throat” is that Orgasm tends to be a peachy pink with very sheer application, while Deep Throat is a medium yellow-based pink (not peachy though) with a slightly higher pigmentation. Both blushes have shimmer, but on my skin Orgasm’s shimmer is more prominent than Deep Throat. (Unfortunately I don’t have the pressed Orgasm blush to do a comparison swatch for you)
In the picture above I’m wearing “Deep Throat” blush on the apples of my cheeks, blended outwards to “Laguna” bronzer.

While everyone keeps talking about “Orgasm”, I think it’s worth it to check out “Deep Throat”, specially if you have a medium/tan skin tone, where Orgasm might disappear into just a shimmery top coat.
