Last Sunday I went on a holiday with 5 of my girlfriends to Vietnam (will be doing a separate post on that too) and on our way I checked out the new MAC corner in the Bandaranaike International Airport here in Sri Lanka. A lot of people have told me the prices were quite good compared to other airports so I was very curious to have a look. I wasn’t intending to buy anything, but boy I went hauling!
First of all, it’s a teeny tiny corner with barely any space to showcase a whole range, but they do have EVERYTHING! They even had the new Holiday collection “Shiny Pretty Things”, which wasn’t available even in Bangkok Suvarnabumi Airport… Overall, I was very impressed by the service and the amount of products they were carrying here in Sri Lanka. Apart from that, the prices were quite closer to US prices, so I splurged a little to replenish my makeup kit!
From the Holiday 2018 collection, the only thing that caught my eye was the face palette, and they had only one left in stock.
From the new Studio Fix collection, I bought both contour & highlight palettes for fair/medium and medium/dark. I must say, the packaging on these are so nice! I already have their infamous Studio Fix Fluid foundation, so I bought only the new Studio Fix Concealer (my shade was NC44, even though I use NC37 foundation on me)
I’m so into over-lining my lips, and MAC lip liners are hands down the best in the market, so I bought two shades this time: Cork and Ruby Woo
I’m a clean-freak with my makeup, and the most repurchased item in my kit is brush cleaner, so I bought a big bottle of brush cleaner as well.
I was planning to buy more makeup from the Bangkok airport, but nothing really impressed me and the prices were on the higher side, so I bought only one Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Dance with me”. I will be doing a review + demo on the Studio Fix range soon, so stay tuned to my blog and my instagram…
