MAC Face & Body Foundation review

I think I found a new favourite foundation! MAC Face & Body Foundation has been out there for a long time, but I’ve been so occupied with my other foundations and I kind of missed it out every time I went to a MAC store… Well, MAC has a lot of different foundations and I always get confused when I walk into a store because I get to go only every 6 months or so, and it’s kinda overwhelming to be surrounded by so many products after such a long break 😉

Anyway, my friend Sonali had been telling me about this foundation for a while, and usually everything she recommends work for me. When my fiancé visited me 2 weeks back I asked him to bring this with him (and 2 more bottles of Timecheck Lotion!)

For your cross-reference, here are some of the foundation shades that match me… They’re not identical, but depending on how tan I get I keep rotating these in my make up routine:

MAC Face & Body Foundation does not come in their usual NC and NW shade ranges. Instead it comes in Cs and Ns. My shade is C5.

MAC Face & Body Foundation comes in 2 sizes:

  • 50 ml retailing at US$ 28.00 (TL 86.00)
  • 120 ml retailing at US$ 38.00 (TL 120.00)

The Formula: Is the most fluid, runny formula I’ve ever tried in a foundation. But once you rub it with your fingers it gets slightly thicker and starts settling in. The best way to apply this foundation is by your fingers. I wouldn’t suggest a beauty blender because the finish is super sheer even with fingers (that’s how it’s supposed to be!) and even a brush wouldn’t work well with this watery formula. I love how lightweight it is, and it is so easy to blend out.

The Finish: Is sheer. It’s so beautiful and I love it. Every time I wear this foundation, I look the most natural and many people complimented that my face looked fresh and healthy.

It really works for me! I have really dry skin, and this foundation works perfect over Timecheck Lotion, which is a hybrid of moisturiser and primer (on my fourth bottle since last summer) If you want full coverage, this foundation is so not for you because all it does is balancing the unevenness of your skin colour and adding layer of satiny glow which is great if you have good skin. I believe I don’t have much to cover except for my dark circles, and I love showing off my skin so this foundation is perfect for me. It looks so natural in the harsh sunlight here in the tropics, and because of my dry skin it doesn’t get greasy during the day.

In the picture below you can see my uneven skin tones in the before one, and how it has neutralised in the after one. You may notice that in before picture my forehead is quite darker than after picture. (I’m wearing concealer under eyes on both pictures)

I love Face & Body Foundation! I haven’t used it on my body yet, but I’d definitely buy 120ml because that is so worth for the extra US$ 10.00 you pay!

Anyway, I would like to repeat that this foundation does not work for you if you’re a fan of medium to full coverage foundations… But if you love showing off some good skin, try this out! You’ll love it 🙂

See you soon,

Xx
