MUFE Pro Sculpting Palette #40 review

So I bought one more contour palette even though I have like a dozen more already in my stash! I know this products is quite hyped by us beauty bloggers and YouTubers, and at first I was like, okay, I have a dozen or more contour palettes so do I really need another one? No. Not really. But it was like calling my name… like “come get me!” So during my third visit to Sephora last week, I thought ok, YOLO! I need this.

The Pro Sculpting Palette comes in 4 different shades:

  • #20 Albaster (for fair skin)
  • #30 Marble (for medium skin)
  • #40 Golden Honey (for tan skin)
  • #50 Amber (for dark skin)

I like that they considered all skin tones for these Pro Sculpting Palettes, and I got mine in #40 Golden Honey, made for tan skins.

Price: US$ 45.00 ($5.00 more than the Anastasia Cream Contour palettes which contain 6 different shades, but MUFE has only 4 shades) This is definitely on the pricey side. But let’s see if it’s worth it ๐Ÿ™‚

Packaging: Is a no nonsense plastic palette with clear lid so you can see the shades inside. But I think it could’ve been a lot better than this because it feels a bit cheap for $45.00 I still like the Anastasia packaging, even though it’s cardboard they somehow managed to make it not look like drugstore. I hope MUFE would upgrade their packaging in the next batch, because this looks like drugstore packaging to me. But on the other hand this is quite slim and handy for traveling. I just wish it felt more expensive for the price you pay.

Shade selection:

There are 4 shades that come in each palette:

  • Conceal/illuminate (matte highlighter specially for under eyes)
  • Contour/Bronze (a warm brown shade that’s good for both contouring or bronzing forehead, cheekbones, nose and jaw line
  • Highlight (metallic champagne gold highlighter for cupid’s bow, high points of cheeks, brow bone and center of nose)
  • Color (At first I thought this was like a dark circle corrector, but it’s meant to be a cream blush that is a great shade for summer time)

I like the shade selection here. These are great if you have warm/golden undertones. It also comes with a small leaflet of how to use the shades for different face shapes, which could be really useful for beginners.

The Formula: Of these are very soft, smooth and highly blend-able. You can also build it up quite easily. I like using my beauty blender and the micro mini blenders to apply and blend these.

These are the swatches on my skin:

Here’s a picture of before and after using all four shades:

I don’t really contour much these days, but this palette makes me want to contour every day! It’s so easy to use, and I love all 4 shades because they work so well on me. (I currently use NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in the shade Syracuse- medium/dark 1)

Final thoughts: I love this palette so much and I’m happy I bought it. I’ve always loved MUFE as a brand because they’ve never failed to satisfy me. However, I wish it was either a little less pricey or had better packaging. It’s not a must-have and I think Anastasia’s Cream Contour Kits are still better value for your money. But if you’re a makeup hoarder or you love spoiling yourself with high-end products, then you can consider this palette. If you’re also a professional makeup artist, this is a handy palette for you. But if you’re on a budget I don’t recommend it (Try the L.A. Girl Pro Concealers then, but they dry up quite fast, and are little less blend-able than these high-end products)

If you also have dry skin, you can skip powder contour and go for these cream babies… I’m so enjoying this palette right now because I have really bad dry skin…

Have a good weekend!

Xx
