Hello beautiful people!
Yesterday I attended The Body Shop launch in Colombo, Sri Lanka and I’m super excited to share all the details with you! (just a heads up for you: it’s a kinda long post with many pictures!)
(That’s me in a House of Lonali dress at the launch)
Alright, The Body Shop was at Odel for a while now, but they launched their standalone store on 29th February, 2016 at the Fairline Building in Colombo (right next to Charles & Keith store) You can check out the website: thebodyshop.lk
I’m beyond excited that they invited me for their launch so I could write about their launch and share my experience with you guys! And it was a plus to see our own beauty, their brand ambassador Jacqueline Fernandez at the store, sharing her beauty tips and her experience with The Body Shop. (Too bad I couldn’t take a picture with her, but the store was jam packed and it was so hard to see Jackie even though she was like 10 feet away)
(Beautiful Jacqueline Fernandez. Picture sent to me with press release)
Anyway, the crowd diluted a little after Jacqueline left, and I started taking some pictures and some makeup swatches for my followers…
I spoke to the extremely friendly staff member “Dedunu” (both girls at the store are super friendly!) and got her help to swatch some makeup first. (Because you know I always gravitate towards makeup more than skin care!)
They have a fairly good makeup collection in-store. I’m very impressed to finally see foundation shades that actually match our medium to deep olive skin tones in Sri Lanka (I know Lancôme & YSL are there already, but The Body Shop is more affordable than those brands) Keep in mind that the full range is yet to come, but you can live with what they have in-store for now.

I didn’t have time to swatch everything for you, but I hope whatever I tried helps you… Do pay a visit to the store to check out everything. I’m sure you’ll be impressed as much as I was!
So I got this “Fresh Nude Foundation” in shade: Amber 050 (I have MAC-NC35 skin tone) and I was impressed by how dewy the swatch looked. I was on the look for a dewy finish foundation (so over mattes now!) and this is suitable for all skin types. I have dry skin, so I will give this one a try and do a complete review this weekend 🙂
Price: LKR 5500.00
Shimmer Cubes: I was quite surprised by how pigmented these shimmer cubes are! I swatched two palettes for you:
Price: LKR 4800.00 each
Lip & Cheek Velvet Sticks: I tried the shade “Nude”, but honestly I wasn’t very happy with the result. It pulled out the dry skin on my lips and the nude was too light in colour for me. You’ll need to scrub your lips before applying these. On another note, I loved how they smelled and felt on my lips. There are 4 shades available ATM in store. Here are swatches for 3 of them:
Price: LKR 2800.00
Baked-to-Last Bronzer- Warm Glow: I think is would work great as a highlighter on our skin. Just look at how beautiful it looks! Definitely purchasing this one in my next visit. It has a beautiful champagne glow that looks quite natural on our medium to deep skin tones in Sri Lanka.
Price: LKR 4500.00
Next I explored some skincare. Here are a few pictures I managed to take through the heavily packed store…
Here’s a range I’ve yet to try and review for you… The packaging looks so classy on these:
There was a ton more products at the store, but you need to physically visit and check them out… The staff is super friendly so you’ll enjoy your experience.
I got a few free goodies which I’m testing right now to review for you so stay tuned everyone! (Subscribe to my blog or my Instagram for updates!)
Thank you for checking my site… I hope you’ll enjoy The Body Shop products as much as I do!
See you soon!
