I received this Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in the shade “Celebrated” in the goody bag from DressYourFace Dubai masterclass last December. I didn’t wear it till today, because I already have like 13 blushes, but the beautifully minimalistic packaging and the engraved powders were calling my name everyday from my vanity table. I decided to finally try it today…
According to Tarte website this blush is,
“A long-wearing, supremely soft blush infused with Amazonian clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon River and naturally baked by the sun”
Now, I really like the idea of long-wearing blushes, because blushes are the first things to disappear from your makeup!
Is it really 12-hour wearing? I don’t know if it’s just me, but it didn’t wear for that long. It definitely lasted a little longer than other blushes I have, though. It started fading off after about 5 hours since application, and I admit it was a busy day with running around doing errands.
I wore it again on a less busy day, where I had to just sit and work in front of my laptop; a day that had less outings in the scorching heat in Sri Lanka these days. Well, it still started disappearing around the 5th hour since application, so I have to say it is not very long lasting 😦
Price: US$ 28.00
I like the shade I received. It’s a pretty pinkish nude that’s perfect for fair to light/medium skin tones. If you have tan to deep, avoid this particular shade “Celebrated” as it won’t show up.
In the picture above, Left: before blush, Right: after applying Celebrated from Tarte
Formula is: Ever so slightly coarse to touch, but applies smooth and evenly with a brush. (I mean, it doesn’t feel buttery smooth. Feels like just powder, you know)
Do I recommend this product? Even though it doesn’t last as long as it promised, the shade I got is beautiful. I don’t mind keeping it in my purse for a touch up, because the packaging is very pretty too. However, it is $28 and because you can find a blush from the drugstore that lasts perhaps a tad bit longer for a lesser price, I can’t really recommend this product. I’m still looking out for a high-end blush that would last at least 8 hours for the price I pay… Let me know if you know one!
I’ll see you soon!
