Favourites & Regrets of 2015

Just a few hours more till 2016… I’m not partying this NYE (Boy’s not here, friends have their own plans so I’m stuck at home blogging… Not sad, though. I love blogging and planning to watch some makeup tutorials on YouTube after this post!)

I thought of doing a favourites & regrets round-up of all the new products I purchased this year. You can click on the title to read full reviews of each product 🙂

Let’s begin with The Favourites 🙂

Paul & Joe lipstick in Renard (LE): Is so beautiful & hydrating. It was expensive and I forgot to order the lipstick case, but this is something I always go for whenever I can’t decide the lip colour.

MakeupGeek Foiled eyeshadows: Are the best thing ever! Seriously. They’re so pigmented and work superb even without a primer. These are must-haves for everyone. Period.

NARS Christopher Kane Blush in Starscape (LE): Amazing LE blush from NARS. So glad I bought this one.

Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick (LE): Is the perfect vivid pink for a statement lip! Love the formula, the colour and the lasting power.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow Couture World Traveller Palette (LE): If there was an award for The Best Eyeshadow Palette, this takes it! The best pre-made eyeshadow palette for an affordable price. If you didn’t buy it, you totally missed a great palette.

Gerard Cosmetics Star Powders: I’ve got Marilyn, Lucy and Brigitte. Marilyn is my favourite and I use it every single day. I have yet to write my review on Brigitte, but you can read my thoughts on Marilyn & Lucy by clicking on the title.

BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Palette: What a hassle it was to get this palette on the launch day! It was sold out within hours and the palette speaks out for it. This is now available for a very peaceful purchase at bhcosmetics.com It’s a great palette that’s totally worth the money.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette (LE): Another great palette from ABH (LE) this palette has some great everyday shades. They blend like a dream, and so creamy and pigmented. A palette that I always go for at least twice a week!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminators: I have yet to write my review on this, but I’m telling you it’s my favourite highlighter ATM. I got the shade in Riviera, and it’s perfect if you have medium/tan skin tone. The review will come soon next week 🙂

Too Faced Melted French Kisses (LE packaging): So happy I bought these mini lipstick pack for holidays. They’re so great for everyday wear! This little pack has Melted Metal Peony, Melted Chihuahua, Melted Metal Macaron & Melted Berry, which are permanently available for individual purchase in full size.

Dior Vernis in Gris-Or (LE): Review is coming tomorrow as the first post of the New Year. This shade is great and totally worth the money!

Dior Mat Lipstick in Radieuse (LE): From Dior’s State of Gold collection, this matte lipstick is perfect for everyday wear too! It’s hydrating, lightweight and amazingly pigmented. Review will be up tomorrow 🙂

Now to The Regrets 😦

Lancôme My French Palette (LE): I was so hyper about this palette when I first received this, but I can’t remember the last time I used it! (Perhaps I should use it tomorrow for New Year’s fresh look) I admit it’s a beautiful palette with high-quality eyeshadow, but I regret paying way too much for it. (LKR 12500.00) This is why I never buy makeup through FB pages in Sri Lanka. They are rip-offs :/

Paul & Joe Elephanteau Palette (LE): Another palette I never used after the review. I don’t know why, but I just don’t go for it…

MAC Toledo Collection- Violetwink eyeshadow palette (LE): Is not worth the money. Not even for the beautiful packaging. The colours were stunning but most of the shadows have less than average pigmentation.

MAC Wash & Dry Collection- Tumble Dry lipstick (LE): Is something I hardly even open. If you skipped this collection, you were smart!

I’ve listed only the products that were launched this year. I’ve also mentioned whatever is Limited Edition, and I must say, I’m happy the number of favourites have outdone the regrets!

Apart from the new launches, I’m also sharing with you the products I’ve used mostly this year:

I hope you’re having a wonderful NYE!!!

See you tomorrow!

Xx
