Ruby Woo has a long history: It was first launched in 1999 with a new formula called “Retro Matte” by MAC, that became an instant hit. Loved by celebrities, makeup artists and almost everyone across the world, this blue-toned red shade got a cousin call RiRi Woo, which was Rihanna’s Limited Edition creation that sold out within minutes. Ever since Ruby Woo’s launch, it has sold millions in units and is still a best seller in MAC’s lipstick history

Ruby Woo has a Retro Matte Finish, meaning it is super matte and feels very drying on the lips. Make sure you prime your lips to avoid that extra drying feeling. It has a blue undertone to it, and it goes a little rough and patchy at first. But this is a minor problem because it has full opacity in one swipe. Once it’s on your lips, the warmth of your skin will break the rough consistency slightly so you can smoothen it out with fingers or a lip brush.

Wearability: is on the longer side because of the matte formula
