Forever Nude

IMG_6824When Jacklyn Hill made Forever Nude one of her June favourites this year, and when BH Cosmetics put it on sale, I didn’t think twice to buy it. But to be honest I wish I was more patient and checked other bloggers before jumping on to ordering it so fast, because I’m not a big fan of the colour 😦

I don’t blame Jacklyn Hill for loving Forever Nude, because this colour can totally work for her complexion and everybody who has very fair skin tones. For us tanned girls this looks too, too pale on the lips. This totally washed out my face and I looked kinda ghostly 😦

But the good news is, I can easily blend this with another darker shade for a customised lip colour. So if you’ve ever purchased a ghostly lip colour and you can’t return it or give it to someone else, you can totally do the same trick. I have many dark lipsticks that can be too dark for daily wear sometimes. Forever Nude is perfect to tone them down and make them more wearable.

Naked Peach

IMG_6828This colour is again a little too light for my skin (NC30) but it’s more workable than Forever Nude in terms of wearing it alone. Naked Peach has some white undertone in it that might wash out your face if you have medium skin. But when worn in a light layer, it can be really beautiful.

Both colours have excellent pigmentation and are very creamy in texture. They feel a little heavy on the lips but not too uncomfortable. They actually feel moisturising.

Lasting power is around 3-4 hours without major eating and drinking. Because these are similar to the traditional lipstick formula, these lipsticks can leave marks on coffee cups.

You need to prep your lips before application for a smoother finish.

They’re cruelty-free products.

Price: US$4.00 currently at the website.

I must warn you that the colour swatches on the website don’t give a realistic idea. If you’re planning to buy other colours, do check out more reviews on YouTube or other blogs

Do I recommend these? If you have fair skin, yes. If you have medium to dark skin, I don’t think you can wear these alone without looking ghastly. But they can be mixed with other colours as I mentioned before. I also have a feeling that Forever Nude can be a good dupe for MAC’s Myth lipstick.

I’ve received many requests to do BH Cosmetic Haul reviews soon… I’m trying my best to do them all before this month ends 🙂 Feel free to request reviews or ask questions in the comment section below.

Happy Weekend!!!
