July 2015 favourites

I’m starting a new series of monthly favourites that I’m planning to post end of every month. Here I’m starting with what I loved and used the most in July…

IMG_6482

Sephora Shadow & Liner in Violet: I’d been loving this Sephora Shadow & Liner in Violet (you can read the complete review here.) because it’s such a beautiful accent for hot, summer months. It’s really easy to use (and hard to remove without waterproof makeup remover or wipes) so whenever I was running out of time I just had to sweep it across my upper or lower lash line for an easy bright eye look. (Price: US$14.00)

MakeupGeek’s Caitlyn Rose: is the other purple eye product I used a lot in July. This is a foiled eyeshadow (retailing at US$9.99) and is super, duper pigmented. All you need is just one swipe with your finger, and bam! Got so many compliments and this is such a statement eyeshadow shade that every makeup junkie should have.

Baby Face & Desert Sands: The next two eyeshadow shades I was so attached to are also from MakeupGeek. They look so beautiful together and every time I wear these two, I get compliments on my eyes so I was constantly wearing this combo in the past month. You can read a complete review of Baby Face & Desert Sands from here. They are both matte finish and highly pigmented so I recommend you to check them out if you love neutrals or mattes for everyday wear. (Price: US$5.99 each)

Escada Limited Edition EDT Turquoise Summer: Okay, I bought this one at the very of July, but I can’t wait till I add it to next month’s post, so I’m adding it to July favourites because I can’t stop wearing it! Every time I see this bottle I want to spray it all over me, because look at how beautiful it is! I’d been eyeing this for the longest time, ever since I saw YouTubers rave about it and I was over the moon when I got to know it’s available in Colombo. (I got this from Exclusive Lines at Odel) It smells like a basket of wild berries, but if you don’t like fruity fragrances, stay away from it as it might attract you for the packaging and all, but it’s a bomb of wild berries! It stays for about 3-4 hours (it’s EDT, didn’t check it till my friend asked about that part) and comes in 3 volumes. This is a limited edition perfume, and you know I’m a sucker for LE and beautiful packaging. But I’m extremely happy about my purchase because it smells sooooooo amazing and fresh. Recommend you to check it out at Exclusive Lines (if you’re in Sri Lanka LKR 9300.00- you will get a free gift) or Sephora (If you’re an international reader US$ 77.00)

MakeupGeek Blush in Spellbound: Next up in the line is this gorgeous blush from MakeupGeek in Spellbound. (Stay tuned for a review) It’s a light pink blush that is highly pigmented as all of MakeupGeek products and is a little similar to my all-time favourite blush from MAC- Modest Blush. I had been wearing this everyday because it’s light and blends nicely with my new favourite bronzer, which is the next July favourite product. (Price: US$9.99) This blush is Talc & Paraben free AND cruelty-free 🙂

MAC Matte Bronze: I wasn’t too positive in my MAC Wash & Dry collection review, but I’m actually loving this bronzer “Matte Bronze” so much right now. The one I have is LE packaging (Wash & Dry collection- Price 28.50€) but it’s a permanent shade so it’s available in the regular MAC packaging priced at 26.50€ if you’re interested. I think it’s a good investment if you’re into contouring/bronzing because I don’t have time in the mornings to do proper contouring and bronzing, but this product is slightly cool toned so as I bronze my face with this, it also defines my face shape. For me it’s a hybrid of both, and I love contouring my nose with this; it’s not too pigmented so you can nicely build it up without over contouring.

BH Cosmetics Colour Lock Matte Lipsticks: Last but not least are these beautiful matte lipsticks I got from BH cosmetics. (I have 7 shades altogether and check my review here.) Out of the 7 shades I bought I’ve been using Passionate, Faithful & Devotion a lot during the past month. Passionate is a pretty orchid purple, Faithful- the best everyday matte nude and Devotion is the perfect 90s lipstick shade. These babies stay almost all day long and they do not dry crazy or slip or stain your coffee mug. Currently retails at US$5.00 at bhcosmetics.com

Looking back at what I’ve favoured in July, I see purple has been the ‘it’ colour for me… Which colours did you like most this summer? Comment below and let me know 🙂

See ya!
