Today I’m doing my second collaboration with another blogger-BFF, and she is Karen Bope on crazylove4clothes.com Her blog is not only about beauty/makeup, but clothes, styling, and basically about her life in North Dakota… We met on Instagram sometime back (check out her IG: @crazylove4clothesblog ) and started our friendship there and through emails and we decided to our first collab on our Current Top 5 Beauty Picks
Okay these are my Current Top 5 Beauty Picks:
1. MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (my shade is C5.5)
2. Rimmel Kate Lipstick in no:08
3. OPI Nail Laquer in Coney Island Cotton Candy
4. Bare Minerals Mascara in Lash Domination
5. Sephora Shimmering Bronzing Powder in Trip to Haiti
It was soooo hard to pick just 5 products because it’s summer time and I’ve been loving so many colourful beauty looks (specifically eyeshadow!) but I decided to choose the top 5 products that I’ve been using almost every single day, that automatically made it to Current Top 5 Beauty Picks 🙂
You might think they’re all very basic everyday kinda picks, but I change these basics every couple of months (for example, I hardly use powder foundation and I’ve been using just a DD cream with a mattifying powder from Sephora all this time until I bought MAC Studio Fix Powder mentioned here) so even though they are very basic (I admit that 😀 ) I keep picking them up every morning, so I think that’s reasonable enough for them to be on this list 🙂
Wanna see why I picked them?
MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation: Was everything I wanted in a foundation. For everyday makeup, I don’t want heavy coverage so this gives a really good medium coverage and it is matte! I love how this makes my skin look effortlessly flawless. If you like, you can go heavy on this. But I love applying this all over my face and a little bit on my neck (don’t ever forget your neck!!!) and it saves time because it covers and makes your skin matte at the same time. This is travel friendly too, so it’s very easy to keep this in your purse for an on-the-go application.
Rimmel Kate Lipstick in no 08: Is something I cannot live without right now! It’s the perfect consistency in the perfect everyday shade. I just wish I bought all other colours. No 08 is a dusty nude-y pink that could be suitable for a variety of skin tones. It’s nice and creamy (without being too creamy) and stayed for about 6-7 hours of eating, drinking and napping (on the flight when I was coming back. I retouched only once during my 14-hour flight) Will write more about this on a separate post, but this is certainly worth checking, girls!
OPI Nail Laquer in Coney Island Cotton Candy: Is a pretty pale creamy pinky beige. (I know that’s a mouthful!) It is quite transparent, so you need about 3 coats to get some opacity (kinda sucks there, but I don’t mind it because once you finish your 3 coats, your nails look so pretty!) The reason I picked a pale nail polish in the middle of summer is because I had been applying reds, pinks and neons in the past few weeks so I am kinda tired of bright nails. Anyway, this is temporary… Currently I’m obsessed with this pale beauty and I know in another week I will switch back to my brights! This colour is great for a French Mani with 1 coat and if you have stiletto nails, try this shade in 2-3 coats for a very chic look. (I love applying a glitter coat on top as well!)
Bare Minerals Mascara in Lash Domination: Would’ve been my ultimate fav mascara if it was waterproof. But it’s not. And it’s okay, because I love how long my lashes look in this! This is the first Bare Minerals product I’ve bought, and I’m intrigued to buy more. Lash Domination made my lashes look dramatically long and thick… You can await a complete review post soon 🙂
Sephora Shimmering Bronzing Powder in Trip to Haiti: Is an understated product in the bronzing universe… This is the perfect and ultimate bronzer for summer and it’s only 19.50€ ! I’ve done a complete review on this product, which you can read here. This gives a naturally sun kissed finish that makes you look like you had been vacationing in the Riviera for half of your life! I love applying this either all over my face whenever I look too pale or just along the cheeks for that bronzy summer glow.
So, those are My Current Top 5 Picks… They are pretty much everyday makeup essentials and sometimes only these 5 products together can complete a very natural everyday makeup look.
I will be doing complete reviews on the first 4 products mentioned in my post pretty soon so stay tuned girlies…
